Reflexology Treatments FAQs
Reflexology works by releasing blocked energy (qi, pronounced chi, being the body's vital energy) throughout the body by touching specific points on the feet. This helps to calm the nervous system, create balance and promote healing.
Each treatment lasts for roughly one hour, with the first consultation taking slightly longer.
Generally everybody benefits from reflexology but sometimes people can have contra-indications which require a doctor's permission. These include recent surgery, high temperatures, contagious illnesses or unstable psychosis. If you would like to discuss anything with me, please feel free to contact me.
I don't care! I am a diabetes nurse. I have seen so many feet and am non judgemental. The less you do to your feet before your appointment the better as this shows them in their most natural state.

I only need to access your feet but you will be lying on a reflexology bed, so try to wear something comfortable. It is also useful for me to access your ankle and lower leg area so looser trousers are best.
You will sleep very well and feel calm and relaxed. You may experience something known as "the healing crisis" which may make you feel worse before better. Symptoms of this can include thirst, changes in mood, headache, changes in digestion and bowel movements. This is considered completely normal and only lasts for around one day.
In my opinion, one session will make you feel calm and you will sleep very well but to be more effective, a minimum of 4-6 sessions are needed on a weekly basis.
If you are having reflexology for fertility or infertility I recommend a minimum of 8 sessions.
